One of my New Year's resolutions (already more than a month late, I fear), is to post regularly on this blog. My other blog, Saved by Grace, has been taking much of my time, as has our dancing, and we're blessed by and thankful for both!
Yesterday, we were honored to perform at the Florida State Fair -- this is our 12th year doing so! The youthful energy and excitement of the mostly college-age participants and large crowd at the Charles M. Davis Event Center gave us and all who took part a real boost.
We performed a Theatrical Exhibition to "Save Me, Jesus" -- a piece for which I wrote the lyrics and prerecorded the vocal. We were thrilled to receive a standing ovation and touched by the comments of organizer Debra Loran, MC Grace Badillo, and many members of the audience.
No video or pics yet from this event, but I will post when they become available. Here is a YouTube link to the same piece we performed at a recent competition.
Congratulations and thanks to Debra for once again organizing a fun-filled, exciting day of performances and competitions to give the Tampa Bay area a great taste of what ballroom dancing has to offer. And congratulations to the other performers and competitors, many from Rhapsody Ballroom, for dancing so well and for sharing your love of dance with the community. Special thanks to Mike and Peg Johnston, Rhapsody Ballroom DJs, for the great music, and to the other officials and volunteers that made this event so special.
God bless and happy dancing!
